Here in Washington D.C., I've bought probably about a month's worth of food and supplies in preparation of the snow storm which is hitting today. A month's worth is certainly a bit of overkill, but I was at Costco, and well, they sell things in bulk there. I didn't even bother trying to fit things into the fridge and freezer, I simply stuck them out on the porch! We're expecting up to 28 inches between now and tomorrow morning (a record), so I expect we'll all be snowed in for awhile here ...

Here in the area around Washington D.C., the snow is coming down pretty heavy as I type. We had around seven inches or so I would guess last night, and they're calling for up to two feet total by the end of the day tonight. As long as most of us stay inside, things shouldn't be too bad - the fridge is stocked, vegetable soup is sitting in the slow cooker, firewood is resting on the porch, and... it's looking a lot like a good day to bake cookies! I just received a cookie press, and I can't wait ...
