Quiet house

The house has taken on a whole different kind of quiet----the 2 teens are gone for a week with their aunt and uncle to another state to visit relatives of my former husband. I didn't think I'd miss them or their "energy", but I really do. Well, right now I do because HD is gone on a jont of errands.

I told Hubby Dearest I didn't know how I was going to deal with the quiet and sleeping in passed 6 a.m. It took me about 5 minutes to get over that!!!! We had mushroom and spinach pizza for supper with no one saying, "Ewwww, I don't like......." Each of us had 2 big pieces and didn't have to share. Each of us had 5 giant red grapes and didn't have to encourage one of the kids to "just try this; it's very good." And the creme de la creme was no one yelled, "MOM, he/she isn't letting me have the remote control. Come here and blap them in the mouth because they just stuck their nasty, stupid tongue out at me!!! MOMMMMMMM, ARE YOU COMING????" However, now I do miss their commotion and "energy".

I don't think I'll do very well with a totally empty nest when it comes around again in a few years. I'm not put together like that.
How have some of you dealt with your empty nesting?
