Radio music

How many of you listen to the radio? I turned mine on this morning before I got up just to find out what the weather was going to be. Sometimes during the night it can change quickly and what was said at 10 p.m. the night before doesn't necessarily mean that is what will be at 6:00 a.m.

Well, to my surprise there was no weather report at the usual time and CHRISTMAS music was playing. Folks, it isn't even THANKSGIVING yet, and my ears are being reamed with Christmas music. I don't think I'm going to listen to that station until a few days before Christmas. I'm not ready for the on-going seasonal music. To me it would be the same as singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my husband starting in April for his birthday in May.

Are there any thoughts on this from y'all?

Trudy, I enjoy Christmas music - but for a short time. Not for two or three months! The "noise" of the Christmas music in stores only adds to the din. Also I HATE that so many in the media do not recognize CHRISTMAS (only Holiday)! If we are such a tolerant society the tolerance should be practiced by all. I don't mean to be so negative, but it is so hard to deal with this.

I often listen to Pandora, an on-line radio service which lets you customize your very own radio stations. The free service gives you 40 hours a month with an occasional ad intermixed (this is what I use), and the paid service gives you no ads and unlimited listening. I also listen to the regular radio in the car occasionally, but for my weather I tend to either just check the weather desktop application I use with Windows Vista, or do a quick search on http://www.weather.com.
