I don't know about your area, but Gertie the groundhog in central Illinois did not see her shadow. It was very foggy, so how could she have? I had trouble seeing across the road!! So, the legend says there will Spring early this year. Now, in Pennsylvania, Puxatawny Phil saw his shadow, so over there it will be 6 more weeks of Winter. Whatever it is going to be, it is going to be. The weather ignores critism and complaints. It has its own mind and way of doing what it does best-------weathers.

    2012 JANUARY “FMP”

Have you ever thought about the penny? Its value is seemingly insignificant. Communist China is trying to get it removed from circulation. Because of the explosive growth in China as a result of the modernization of the Chinese infrastructure, the cost of zinc and copper has risen so high that it now costs 1.23 cents to make each penny!

    2011 Dec. From My Perspective

My generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.

Every one of us has had to endure interview questions. Some of them were rational; some were not. Here is a list of actual ones used in job interviews with various companies. Enjoy and maybe get a pencil.

Summer is gone, school has started, Fall is coming. We have started the ninth month of the year, which really means seventh (Sept), but due to Julius Caesar and Augustus Caesar wanting a month named after them (July and August), September becomes the ninth month. Thus, October is the 10th, but means the 8th; November is the 11th, but means the 9th; and December is the 12th, but means the tenth. Unless ones knows the stories of Julius and Augustus, the prefixes of the last 4 months are not as meaningful. That brings me to the Labor Day observance. It is in honor of those who labor.

It is said, "April showers bring May flowers."It is April 1 and it is raining or going to rain today. Along with the flowers, budding trees, and grasses come the wonderful pollen. Without it, these growing plants would not propagate as well, if at all. Being a person who has a reaction to this stuff, I have mixed emotions about it all. However, the dreariness of Winter is replaced by the color and pleasantries of Spring's promise of new. 'Tis a season for everything, huh?

There are so many events in March for the entire month---
American Red Cross; Music in our schools month; Frozen food month; Noodle month; Nutrition month; Woman’s History month; Youth Art Month; my birthday; and Irish-American Heritage month.
