Thank you, Jennifer, for including Guy and me in your prayers and your pastor putting us on the prayer list at your church. We return to the oncologist to find out about the next plan of "attack" and answer to more questions. We are getting our affairs in order, have an appointment with an attorney, and are being so thankful for each day we have together. Yes, I agree, this site is an electronic family. I am so glad we have the quality of people on it which we do.
    Fondly,

Can you give me a home address for Jane ? (nedajay). She had said she would love to get a coffee mug made in USA. I have been checking the mugs when I go to the thrift store and today I found one! I would love to mail it to her as a surprise. If you can't give me her address, I understand. Thank you.

I can't access the post regarding St. Patricks day. Everything else seems to be working. I could look at it earlier today, however now it tells me I am not authorized. Can you help?

Car Troubles

by MadClikr on 05/06/2011 at 03:59 PM
I'm having an interesting day today. After getting dressed to run errands this morning, I found that my car wouldn't start (I bought it brand new about seven months ago). After troubleshooting for a little while, I think what happened is that I didn't turn the ignition switch all the way off last night, but left it in the accessories position, which means that while the car was off, the battery wasn't, and I think it was being slowly drained by the various systems.

Fortunately,

Keeping Busy

by MadClikr on 03/17/2010 at 07:01 PM
I can't tell you how many times over the past couple of weeks that I've seen something on-line or heard something on the news and wanted to post it here to share with all of you. Work and home and been keeping me pretty busy, but I've gotten a lot done!

I've been doing my spring cleaning over the past couple of weeks, it's good to rearrange the furniture, get that old sewing machine cabinet and lift working again, and just get rid of a ton of junk and clean out the ol' cobwebs.

Emergency Preparedness: Automobile

by MadClikr on 02/25/2010 at 06:46 PM
My mother was meeting me for lunch awhile back, and had scraped her knee shortly before arriving. I've always kept a first-aid kit and emergency supplies bag in my car since I started driving, but find it quite difficult to find anything in the one pocket sack which was filled with zip-loc bags holding various medical supplies, so I decided to do something about it.

I've never liked the standard first-aid kits which you can buy at the supermarket, Wal-Mart, etc. For one thing, they

Snowmageddon 2010!

by MadClikr on 02/05/2010 at 01:41 PM
Here in Washington D.C., I've bought probably about a month's worth of food and supplies in preparation of the snow storm which is hitting today. A month's worth is certainly a bit of overkill, but I was at Costco, and well, they sell things in bulk there. I didn't even bother trying to fit things into the fridge and freezer, I simply stuck them out on the porch! We're expecting up to 28 inches between now and tomorrow morning (a record), so I expect we'll all be snowed in for awhile here

The Beauty of Snow

by MadClikr on 02/03/2010 at 05:48 AM
I woke up this morning at around 5:30, and felt almost like a kid again as I stared in awe at the beauty of the intertwining snow laced branches outside my window. It's still relatively dark out, but I'll try to get some pictures once there's a wee bit more light to take them in. Now granted, I work for myself, often from home, and I don't have to commute despite the weather, and so it may be a "tad" easier for me to enjoy the simple beauty the snow provides, without first dwelling on
