I'm getting a message that says, "You are not subscribed to any forums." I clicked HOME 2x and got in. If others are getting this message, they might be getting scared off or frustrated. I, also, got a note from Melodie Saladino in Florida, she's a good friend of mine, who tells me her messages are not being accepted and "have to be approved by a moderator".

'Any suggestions about this and what I could tell her?

Hmmm... if you click the "Go Advanced button", it looks like they're showing up there. Last time, I think I edited the software to let us see them in the Quick Reply area as well. I'll check and see if there is a way to do this in the new software, as well.

    Jennifer,

I can't find the little emocrons which used to be available when we posted our thoughts or statements. Would you be able to place them on the "REPLY" section as they were previously?
  4. Trudy in Illinois
No, I'm not having any trouble anywhere else on this site. Thank you for asking, though.
The new format may be a bit challenging to some who have trouble with change. Perhaps a note on the opening page as to how to get to the topics we were used to would help them.

    Hi Trudy,

That is odd, since it would need to let you login, in order for you to post that message! Let me see if I can dig around and find out what's going on with the new system here...

    Hi Jennifer,
I just got a message I'm not permitted to log-on to COMMUNITY GALA. Can you tell me what the problem is, or have I royally honked you off? Please, send me an e-mail at: tripka5@mtco.com

Something is going goofy on the site. I have to log-in each time instead of just being able to get on the site. Any idea what is going on?

Yes, Purple! It is a work in progress.

Thanks, it means a lot to know they're appreciated!

I don't know how you find all those wonderful free samples, but I surely appreciate it.

Keeping Busy

by MadClikr on 03/17/2010 at 07:01 PM
I can't tell you how many times over the past couple of weeks that I've seen something on-line or heard something on the news and wanted to post it here to share with all of you. Work and home and been keeping me pretty busy, but I've gotten a lot done!

I've been doing my spring cleaning over the past couple of weeks, it's good to rearrange the furniture, get that old sewing machine cabinet and lift working again, and just get rid of a ton of junk and clean out the ol' cobwebs.

Emergency Preparedness: Automobile

by MadClikr on 02/25/2010 at 05:46 PM
My mother was meeting me for lunch awhile back, and had scraped her knee shortly before arriving. I've always kept a first-aid kit and emergency supplies bag in my car since I started driving, but find it quite difficult to find anything in the one pocket sack which was filled with zip-loc bags holding various medical supplies, so I decided to do something about it.

I've never liked the standard first-aid kits which you can buy at the supermarket, Wal-Mart, etc. For one thing, they

Snowmageddon 2010!

by MadClikr on 02/05/2010 at 12:41 PM
Here in Washington D.C., I've bought probably about a month's worth of food and supplies in preparation of the snow storm which is hitting today. A month's worth is certainly a bit of overkill, but I was at Costco, and well, they sell things in bulk there. I didn't even bother trying to fit things into the fridge and freezer, I simply stuck them out on the porch! We're expecting up to 28 inches between now and tomorrow morning (a record), so I expect we'll all be snowed in for awhile here

The Beauty of Snow

by MadClikr on 02/03/2010 at 04:48 AM
I woke up this morning at around 5:30, and felt almost like a kid again as I stared in awe at the beauty of the intertwining snow laced branches outside my window. It's still relatively dark out, but I'll try to get some pictures once there's a wee bit more light to take them in. Now granted, I work for myself, often from home, and I don't have to commute despite the weather, and so it may be a "tad" easier for me to enjoy the simple beauty the snow provides, without first dwelling on

Häagen-Dazs' Baileys Irish Cream Ice Cream

by MadClikr on 01/12/2010 at 09:32 PM
Ever since I learned that Häagen-Dazs makes Baileys Irish Cream ice cream, I've been looking for it during each trip to the grocery store. Much to my delight, they had the flavor available today, and it's fantastic! I only made one mistake... I looked at the nutrition facts... 50% of your saturated fat for a day in half a cup, wowserz!
