Thank you so much for your support and words of comfort. Yes, these special days will be difficult, but his spirit is here and I have comfort.
I hope you Thanksgiving is filled with warmth, love, and good memories.

  2. I'm glad you liked the book. As you could tell it was a used book. So many of the thoughts and quotations reminded me of the love you and Guy share and I wanted to share those thoughts with you. Glad to hear that he is improving. God bless.

Thank you so much, Linda, for the book on love. My beloved and I live just about every one of them. He is getting better; is now in intensive rehab for a few weeks and is smiling more. I shared the book with him. He liked it very much.

    Linda,
Would you send me your e-mail address, please? I can send you your own copy of my column, if you'd like.
You will be receiving a note from me via snail-mail, very soon. What a nice surprise I had from you in my mail.

    Dear Linda,
I received your note yesterday. Thank you so much and thank you for your thoughts and prayers for Guy and me. April will be filled with doctors' appointments and possibly the beginning of his treatment or surgery. It is very small, we have been told, and a blessing it was found so early. We are in agreement.
    All the best to you,
    Trudy
  6. That's the kind of trouble I get in when I try to get ahead in my work!

Hope YOU DO have a happy St. Patty's day!

The St. Patrick's Day post is for tomorrow - it posted it early for some reason, and keeps putting it on the front page! I'll just delete it and repost tomorrow - it sure is confusing everyone!

    HI mspete,
I took care of the posting you told wasn't amusing. It was a spammer. They have been warned. Madclikr and I have chatted about them and she, too, is aware. Thanks for "jerking his chain". Maybe they'll go back to their cages and ruminate.
  9. Thank you. My e-mail address is mspete@bellsouth.net. I have enjoyed reading your newsletter on this site but did not see it posted for the last couple of months. Thanks again!

Learning curve!!!

by mspete on 12/30/2011 at 07:41 PM
I got a "Nook" tablet for Christmas. So far the only thing I have had success with is turning it on and off & working crosswords! There is SO MUCH to learn! I'm sure time will help and I will be spending entirely too much time on it. There is a way to access books from our local library but I haven't figured that one out yet. I can also surf the net and get e-mail (gotta learn that, too). Oh my, this is a not a curve this is a complete right or left turn. We will see if

Last Rose of Summer

by mspete on 12/01/2011 at 02:38 PM
This morning I went to pick up the mail from our mailbox and saw "the last rose of summer" looking beautiful but somewhat wilted. For some reason the follow came into my mind. Hope you enjoy it.

LAST ROSE OF SUMMER

As the last rose of summer
she hangs her lovely head.
She wanted sunshine this morning,
but awoke to hoar frost instead.

She tried to lift her petaled face
but did not have the power.
As all her lovely

Couponing class

by mspete on 07/21/2011 at 02:05 PM
Yesterday I attended a class on using coupons. It was part of the "brown bag" events that are held each Wednesday at the main library. These are one hour sessions that are held each Wednesday. There is no admission and parking is free! My friend and I have gone to several including storytellers, music, etc. They are always good.

I did learn some things about using coupons and got some good info on websites, "stacking" coupons, coupon matching, etc. I enjoyed

Tornado Recovery

by mspete on 05/13/2011 at 01:27 PM
Our community and many, many others in Alabama are recovering from the devastating tornado of April 27. The main thoroughfare from our community was finally opened Monday (5/9). The area is like a war zone. Some businesses are gone, not just damaged - GONE! God has blessed us with two weeks of good weather which was of tremendous help in starting the clean up process. We are getting some rain today (5/13). Some severe weather is expected (straight line winds & possibly hail) however no
