Love MadClikr's Chewy Sugar Cookie Recipe

Here's my own take on the classic sugar cookie. After experimenting with several recipes, I came up with my own, which I hope you'll enjoy. The best part? No chilling required!

    Ingredients:

    • 1 cup softened butter
    • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    • 4 tablespoons of plain or vanilla yogurt
    • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

    Directions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
    2. Cream butter and sugar until smooth.
    3. Beat in the egg, vanilla, and yogurt.
    4. Sift together the dry ingredients, then slowly mix into the butter mixture.
    5. Roll slightly rounded tablespoons of dough into balls, and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Slightly flatten the tops with your fingertips.
    6. If desired, pat on sprinkles or colored sugar for decoration.
    7. Bake for eight to ten minutes until lightly golden, then cool on a wire rack.
    8. Enjoy!

    Thumbs up

For an extra treat, replace one (or two!) teaspoon(s) of the vanilla extract with all natural orange extract. After forming and patting down the cookies, top with chocolate chips. Yum!
