Cookies: Drop In & Decorate Party
I wasn't really sure where to post this, but I just love the idea! A lady over at The Perfect Pantry started up a local organization where they bake and decorate cookies before donating them to local shelters for the holidays. Even if you live in an area where they will not accept home made foods, a cookie decorating party with friends may be a great way to relax, chat, and show your artistic side! What's even better, is that you all get to "destroy" the evidence when you're done!

I just wanted to mention - the recipe for sugar cookies included in the site above is terrific! I added some extra vanilla to mine (I usually do), but what I love about the recipe is that the cookies came out fairly flat on top and kept their shape well - perfect for decorating! For the icing, I made mine from the Chefmaster Meringue Powder, which I flavored with a bit of orange extract and colored with food coloring. Yum!
