For our son's 6th birthday money was tight, so I created a "Party in a Backpack".

We invited several friends to join us at the County Fair to which the admission was free. We were able to see the exhibits and animals as a group.

Then we found some picnic tables to sit down for the party. I packed Little Debbie cupcakes in a plastic shoebox which I then stacked in a tier on a plate (also in the backpack) and topped the tier with the candles. After singing Happy Birthday each child was able to take a cupcake off the stack.

Each child also received a juice box and a goody bag (ziplock snack baggie) with bubbles, balloons and candy. There were 16 children present and the whole thing cost $15!!!

One of the moms pointed out that we couldn't have afforded to bring all the animals to our home. Plus, the day was very educational as well.

A great time was had by one and all.

This just goes to show you that you don't have to spend a lot of money to have a good time!
