Backing up Your Important Computer Files
Making regular backups of your important computer files can seem like a lifesaver when things go wrong. There are many backup solutions, such as simply saving the files to CD, DVD, or a flash drive; using one of the many Internet services available for file storage; or using a network attached storage device (often called a NAS or NAS Drive) to store the files (my preferred option).
It all gets a bit technical, but if you decide to back up your files on a secondary hard drive or network attached storage (NAS) device, you may want to consider using a software application which handles everything automatically for you. I played around with Microsoft's Synctoy for awhile, but never got it to quite operate as well as I would of liked, so I switched over to an application called Karen's Replicator, which I now recommend. A great resource for finding more information on this application may be found here, as it includes detailed instructions and images to help walk you through setting everything up.

Today is the FIRST day of the REST of your life...what will YOU make of it?
No trees were harmed in making this post. However, millions of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Several months ago my computer got a virus. I had to take it to a shop to get it "washed". The shop was able to download all my files to a flash drive (the flash drive cost about $18.00). It is about the size of your index finger. Ever so often I back up my files on it just in case!
Inexpensive & easy to use.
