    Lightbulb Napkin Rings

Here's a fun napkin ring craft idea. Simply take a cardboard tube (such as from an empty paper towel roll), and cut it into sections. Decorate each section with colored paper or fabric for a custom look!

(By the way, I love Applegate's organic hotdogs, yum! )

Your note about the organic hot dogs reminded me of a conversation I overheard while standing in checkout at Winn-Dixie. A younger woman was telling the cashier that she was not able to find many organic products at Winn-Dixie. The cashier, an older (ok - old) African American woman, in her most southern drawl said "Honey, if you just pray over your food and eat in moderation you will not have to worry about whether or not the food is organic". I could not help but smile, and the young woman was very gracious in accepting the advice.

Growing up, it seemed that I was allergic to everything. There were very few things that I could eat, almost no fruits, no vegetables, no breads, etc. There was only one soap I could use, and we had to rinse my clothes with warm water three times to get the soap out after washing. I always had a rash or hives from one thing or another, and I would get a sinus infection every other month or so... more often in the summer. After the natural foods and organic food movement started picking up, I slowly learned that I wasn't allergic to fruits and vegetables... I was allergic to the things they were being sprayed with. I wasn't allergic to bread, I was allergic to the artificial preservatives. I wasn't allergic to soap specifically, but the artificial colors and fragrances. Since I switched to eating and using almost nothing except all natural and organic products, my life has completely turned around. I can eat salads, a slice of melon, a sandwich... wash my clothes... without worrying about whether or not I'll get an infection or worse. I realize that most people have not been in my situation, but for me, organic foods are literally a life changer.

I'm sure learning of your allergies was a life-saving experience. Too many times people go through life without knowing that so much illness and/or discomfort is caused by allergies. I'm so glad you were able to get these identified and with work and concentration, you can enjoy many things that would make you sick beforehand.
