Happy Birthday, Jesus
Many years a friend of mine asked me to write a Christmas poem for her daughter was in kindergarten. When I gave it to her she said "You won't believe this, her class is having a birthday party for Jesus!" It is a little long. I hope you enjoy it.
Happy Birthday, Jesus!
See the little children sitting in a row
Christmas is coming, see their faces glow!
See the twinkle in their bright eyes,
Watching in wonder at the winter skies.
Their minds are racing, 'round and 'round,
At the Christmas lights and the Christmas sound.
They see brightly wrapped gifts, what can it be?
Is it that special gift wrapped especially for me?
They see the tinsel so shiny and bright,
The world seems to turn into magic every night.
There are secret hiding places everywhere,
And everyone is happy and willing to share.
We share good times with friends and family,
Decorate our homes and put up a beautiful tree.
Sometime we are so busy and forget the reason,
Why we are celebrating the Christmas season.
The Christmas story is read again, oh what joy!
It has a special meaning for every girl and boy.
The story of a tiny baby so soft and sweet,
Born in a manger and laid on the wheat.
He was a gift more precious than silver and gold,
And we never tire of this story being told.
We eat and enjoy all kinds of special stuff,
Finally we have to say "I've had enough!"
So enjoy the holiday and have lots of fun,
Visit with friends, family and everyone.
When the day is over and you kneel to pray,
Remember to say "I love you Jesus, and Happy Birthday"

What a lovely poem, thank you for sharing! Traditionally, every year we buy Jesus a birthday cake. Sometimes the cake decorator looks at us funny when we ask for Jesus' name on the cake, but it's something my mom started doing many years ago.

Today is the FIRST day of the REST of your life...what will YOU make of it?
No trees were harmed in making this post. However, millions of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
