The 7: Seven Wonders That Will Change Your Life
I recently picked up a copy of The 7: Seven Wonders That Will Change Your Life (currently half price on Amazon), and found it to be an easy and inspirational read. The chapters go back and forth one "wonder" at a time with stories of Glenn Beck's life struggles and realizations, followed by the insights of psychologist Keith Ablow, M.D. The seven core values, "wonders", which they chose to focus on are as follows:
COURAGE (to stand up for what you believe in, and to do the right thing)
FAITH (in religion, and in yourself)
TRUTH (seeing the world, yourself, and others for what really are)
COMPASSION (having compassion for others who are also struggling)
FRIENDSHIP (knowing who your true friends are, and their importance)
FAMILY (nobody is perfect, but blood is thicker than water)
COMMON SENSE (what is your gut telling you?)
Everyone's life journey is different, and while we all have our struggles, we are, in part, who we are because of these struggles. The answers we need are within us, and through the support and guidance of true friends and mentors, we can become better people by seeing things for what they really are, having the courage and faith to do what is right, and the good sense to listen to our gut and the world around us.
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it - William Arthur Ward
Today is the FIRST day of the REST of your life...what will YOU make of it?
No trees were harmed in making this post. However, millions of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

There is an old movie "Twelve Angry Men" about a jury trying to reach a verdict for a young man who is being tried for murder. If you really watch this and focus on what the men are saying, you learn a great deal about how life experiences influence our thoughts. Although it is very old, it is a wonderful movie.
