    Lightbulb Fire Starters

DIY fire starters are easy to make! Simply take a cardboard egg carton; fill each cup about 2/3 full with something easily flammable such as dryer lint, shredded paper, or saw dust; and cover with melted candle or paraffin wax. Once dry, simply cut the cups apart, and use when necessary!

For mine, I used paraffin wax from my ParaSpa machine (I've had mine for around ten years and love it) which needed changing. I also used the shredded paper which came as padding in my Whole Foods Gift box, so all in all, the fire starters were completely free!

Another method for DIY fire starters is to roll up a newspaper page around a small dowel rod (about 1/4 inch). Tie a cotton string around the roll every inch or so, and then remove the dowel rod. Cut the paper in between the strings, and then dip into paraffin or candle wax.
