Question February 2011: What freebies have you received?

I haven't been registering for many free offers recently, but I did receive a free set of Comfort Clean Floss Picks and a $1 off coupon from DenTek in the mail today.

Oh, and yesterday, I took advantage of the Whole Foods buy one pizza, get one free Tuesday special. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending upon how you look at it, when I got home, I realized that one of the pizzas was incorrect. I called the store and they apologized, offering to give me a refund, but I opted to get a replacement pizza, instead. I asked about returning the incorrect pizza, but they said it was up to me either way (they can't resell it, anyway), and I opted to keep it, mostly because it was easier than lugging it back, but also, I figured we'd eat it anyway. Buy one pizza, get two free!

Way to go MadClikr! One time I bought a 5 lb. bag of idaho potatoes and after 3-4 days all of them began to sprout and shrivel up like prunes (only much larger). I bagged them back up (minus the couple that I had used) and took them back to the grocery. I told the lady at the customer service desk that they must have been old to start with.....I used to garden quite extensively and never had potatoes go bad so quickly. She was extremely apologetic....she refunded my money and asked if I wanted more potatoes. Of course I did....got a 5 lb. bag of red potatoes (cost $1 more) and took them back to her, fully expecting to pay for them, but she said no.....it was their mistake. Talk about above and beyond customer service....I was elated.

Don't you love it when a store goes to the extra effort to satisfy a customer! I really like the policy on "buy one/get one" at Publix. You can buy only one for half price. Food World also uses that policy. Winn-Dixie will not - you have to get both items or pay full price if you get one. Too often I cannot use the quantity they offer, therefore I do not shop at Winn-Dixie which is closer to our home than either Publix or Food World. Also, Wal-Mart does not honor buy one/get one offers.

It was Publix that has the wonderful customer service! Shopping there is truly 'Where Shopping is a Pleasure'.
