    Default Buy AMERICAN made

I have read in several places about focusing on buying products made in USA. There is emphasis on really applying this focus from 9/1/11 to 9/30/11. I plan to look at labels on everything I buy during that period and try to buy ONLY items made in USA. Doesn't seem like a lot, but maybe it would help to bring some jobs back to our country.

I buy American made when I have the choice, particularly when it comes to things like dishes which come in contact with my food. I just don't trust the ones coming out of China not to contain lead anymore.

I have been looking for a coffee mug that is not made in China! It is not as easy as it sounds! My quest has been for over a year now. The only ones I have found are from sets of fine china. I just want an everyday mug for my coffee. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have a small collection of mugs. I will check them for "made in USA".

It looks like Corelle is made in the USA (or, at least some of it) - that's what I've been using for as long as I can remember. You can often buy their dishes individually at places like Wal-Mart and Target, for around $5 or so.

Oh, yes Corelle! I have been using them for all of my adult life....but their mugs that I have aren't as large as I would like. I did find some Lenox mugs in Home Goods, just like the Lenox Butterfly pattern, except they weren't painted, just white and very pretty. These mugs are larger than the Corelle ones, but I hesitate to take them outside on the porch, etc. I don't want to break them!, Having coffee outside is a luxury that I look forward too, while reading the paper in the porch swing...when it isn't humid, which is not often down here in Florida! After the reports of China producing products containing lead....I decided to try and find a large coffee mug made in the USA....but no luck so far.

I use Corelle plates & bowls but I don't like their mugs. I have some Corelle plates that I have been using for so long that all the flowers are worn and faded. Corelle fits so nicely into the dishwasher.

I checked my mug collection and had a few that had no marking, a few from China and one or two from Korea - but NONE from USA!

I just checked a Corelle mug that I have and it is 'Made in Thailand'. So, I guess you never really know.
