Thank you, all of you. As I sat in my chair next to his this morning, I thought to myself, "I watched him come into my life, and it was complete; yesterday I watched him leave my life, and it is incomplete." One of his favorite songs was played at our wedding as we exited the church to begin our married life together. It is I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW by Johnny Nash. It will be the last one played at the end of the memorial service to signify the end of our married life together, the end of pain and suffering. It was a bright shiny day on Friday, too. I looked at the heavens last night and saw all the stars. I told my family, "Ahh, there are the guiding lights for Guy, and there, over there is a very bright one. He made it and is safe."

Trudy, Guy was lucky to have such a sweet, loving, and wonderful lady for his wife. I wish I had the gift of words which you posses - I feel that words are escaping me right now. So many of us have grown to love and care for each other over the years. Know that you are in our hearts and prayers, and if there is anything that we can do to help, please don't hesitate to let us know.

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
    But you still have
    All of me

    Dear Trudy
How my heart aches for you. I can't imagine the pain of losing the one we love most on this earth. DH and I have had 52+ years together and I can't imagine life without him. The following poem was in an obituary for a friend. I hope you find comfort in it.

At the rising of the sun and its going down,
    we remember them.

At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter,
    we remember them.

At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring,
    we remember them.

At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn,
    we remember them.

At the beginning of the year and when it ends,
    we remember them.

As long as we live, they too will live.
They are a part of us.

    We will remember them.

May God hold you in the palm of his hand in the days, weeks and months ahead.

That is beautiful and yes, I found comfort in it. Thank you so much.

Trudy, my local Whole Foods often plays Bless the Broken Road, and I think of you whenever I hear it. Sending warm thoughts, prayers, and a hug or two your way.
