    Shock Learning curve!!!

I got a "tablet" for Christmas. There is so much to learn!! So far all I have been able to do is turn it on & off, work a few crosswords, and be frustrated. I should be able to read "on line" books including books that I can buy as well as books from our county library. Just one little trick - I've got to learn how to access them. I hope the saying "you can't teach old dogs new tricks" is not true!

How fun! Kindle books (from Amazon) are wonderful, and sometimes they're free!

I have that learning curve issue, too. I am learning that the more I eat, the less curves I have.

I finally bought two books from Barnes and Noble just to see what reading on the NOOK would be like. I really liked it! I have gotten three books from the local library, however I can't figure out how to get them from my desktop to the NOOK. I went to the library near us and the guy who runs the computer room there downloaded one of the books. I now have another one and it appears that my NOOK is not authorized with Adobe. I am going to the library again tomorrow to see if the guru of computers there can help me. I am so non-technical that I'm sure he thinks I am an old lady who is incapable of doing any of these things for myself - maybe he is right!

One of the many things going for you, mspete, is that twerp is not your age, nor could get through some of the experiences you have with what you had to get through them. I'd like to see some of the younger generation make bread by hand, feed a family of 5 on 4 potatoes, 1 pound of ground beef, and a quart of milk; orchestrate getting 4 children and a husband ready for the day AND fix a hot, nourishing breakfast from scratch; and many of the other things we did with ease. Oh, and talk WITH a person and not say one off-color word, or "um", or "you know what I mean", or use slang. How about writing a thank you note using all the elements necessary for the reader to know the writer is getting their message across and appreciative of the gift? The list is endless, isn't it?

YEAH!! I was rescued (again) by my son. He came by after work and did a lot of "clicking" and fixed the problem. Maybe I can download the next book that is available from the library - I have two or three requested and will be notified when they can be downloaded.
