No More Burned Cookie Bottoms!

I've had a lot of problems with the bottoms of my cookies and other baked goodies burning. I had tried adjusting the oven temperature, bake time, using heavier pans, using special pans with the air in between the layers, etc. all to no avail. Today, however, I discovered the secret when I decided to bake using my silicone baking mat (it was a freebie - I've used it a lot, but not for baking). Ta da! The bottoms of the cookies weren't burned, I wish I had thought to try this earlier! The mats can be purchased at any kitchen supply store, Wal-mart type stores, some grocery stores, and of course, on-line.

In case you're wondering, other uses for these mats include providing a non-slip surface for cutting boards and mixing bowls, opening tough jars, and providing an easy to clean non-stick surface for working dough, candies, etc.

I think that I'll add it to my Christmas list for the kids to get me......no, I'll need it before then....maybe my Thanksgiving list......Halloween? Oh heck!!....Labor Day is this weekend maybe I'll do some chocolate chip cookies with the kids Thanks for the post!
