In my pantry, I have wire rather than solid shelving for my bottles, jars, canisters, and so forth. The shelves are easy to clean, but while the wider base canisters have no problem standing up, sometime the smaller bottles (such as salad dressing) have a tendency to fall over. I've broken a glass bottle or two over the years as it crashed to the floor after being knocked over. My solution to this problem was to take an old cardboard box (in my case, for the size of my shelving, a long tissue box was the perfect size - I just cut off the top), place it on the shelf, and place the bottles within it. Now the bottles are organized, upright, and best of all - intact!
